This white 2024 Toyota Prado came to Apex Detail Studio in Dubai for a full blackout package. We turned the roof rails, wing mirrors, badges, window trims, bumper lip, wiper cowl, fender flares, door trims and side steps black, so the new Land Cruiser Prado looks like a factory blackout edition. The new Prado is one of the most talked-about SUVs in the UAE. Its boxy, retro shape already looks tough, but the factory trim leaves a lot of silver, chrome and grey on a white car. A blackout package removes that and gives the Prado a cleaner, more purposeful look.
If you are thinking about a Toyota Prado blackout in Dubai, this build shows every part we changed, with before and after shots taken from the full video further down the page.
What is a Toyota Prado blackout package?
A blackout package turns the bright trim on a car black, so the body colour and black details are the only two tones left. On this Prado, that meant every badge, rail and trim piece that stood out against the white paint.
Owners often call it a chrome delete or a blackout edition conversion. The idea is the same: fewer distractions, a stronger stance and a car that looks more expensive than stock.
Which parts of this Prado were blacked out?
We blacked out eleven areas around the car. The table lists each one and what changed.
| Area | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Roof rails | Factory finish | Black |
| Wing mirrors | Factory finish | Black |
| Toyota, Land Cruiser, Prado and Turbo badges | Bright lettering | Black lettering |
| Window trims | Factory finish | Black |
| Bumper lip | Factory finish | Black |
| Wiper cowl | Factory finish | Black |
| Fender flares | Factory finish | Black |
| Door trims and side steps | Factory finish | Black |

What did the Prado look like before?
The Prado arrived in its factory spec: a white body with factory trim on the grille lettering, badges, rails and lower details. Good looking, but busy, because each bright part pulls the eye away from the shape of the car.

How did we black out the Prado?
We worked through the car area by area, starting at the roof and finishing at the side steps, so every part matched the same black.
- Inspection. We walked round the car with the owner and agreed which parts would go black.
- Preparation. Each part was cleaned and prepared so the black finish would bond properly and last in Dubai heat.
- Roof, glass and mirrors. Roof rails, window trims, wing mirrors and the wiper cowl were finished first.
- Badges and lettering. The Toyota, Land Cruiser, Prado and Turbo badges were blacked out to match.
- Lower details. Bumper lip, fender flares, door trims and side steps completed the look.
- Final check. We checked every part in studio light so the black matched all round the car.

Why does a blackout suit a white Prado?
White is the colour where blackout makes the biggest difference. The contrast is strong, so black details sharpen the Prado’s square lines, make the car look lower and wider, and tie in with the dark wheels and glass.
It also hides the parts that age first. In the UAE sun, bright trim and lettering can fade or pit over time, and black details keep the car looking tidy for longer.

How much does a Prado blackout cost in Dubai?
Blackout packages at Apex start from AED 6,500, depending on options. The final price depends on how many parts you want blacked out and their condition, and the team confirms it after seeing the car.
Many owners pair a blackout with paint protection. Full PPF for SUVs and trucks starts from AED 13,500, depending on options, before 5% VAT. Our Toyota Land Cruiser PPF guide explains the coverage, and the PPF cost guide covers what affects the price.
Can you do the same on other SUVs?
Yes. The same approach works on most SUVs with bright trim. For a deeper example, see how we finished the grille, lettering and trim on a Land Rover Defender Carpathian Edition conversion. If any part has existing damage, our car paint repair guide explains how we fix it first.
How do you look after blacked-out trim?
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and a soft mitt.
- Avoid brush car washes, which can mark black finishes.
- Dry with a clean microfibre towel to avoid water spots.
- Remove bird droppings and sand quickly.
- Ask us about protecting the car with PPF or ceramic coating.
