This burgundy Rolls-Royce Cullinan came to Apex Detail Studio in Al Quoz, Dubai, for full-body XPEL Ultimate Plus paint protection film. We washed and corrected the paint, fitted DAP precut film with edges tucked into the seams, and cleaned the white leather cabin before handover. Full-body PPF on a Rolls-Royce SUV like the Cullinan starts from AED 13,500 for SUVs and trucks, depending on options, before 5% VAT.

Harsh chemical marks on a burgundy Rolls-Royce Cullinan before correction
Harsh chemical marks found on the paint.

What did we do to this Rolls-Royce Cullinan?

We wrapped the whole burgundy Cullinan in XPEL Ultimate Plus, a clear gloss paint protection film, so every painted panel now sits under a self-healing layer that takes the chips and scratches instead of the paint.

The car arrived with marks from harsh chemicals and light marks on the door panels, which we photographed before starting. It then went through a full hand wash, surface cleaning and paint correction so the film would sit on clean, corrected paint. After the film was fitted we turned to the cabin: the white leather seats were covered during the install and hand-cleaned afterwards, and the trim was wiped down before the final inspection.

The result is the same deep burgundy finish the owner bought the car for, with protection on the bonnet, bumpers, wings, mirrors, door edges and handles, the areas that take the most abuse on Dubai roads.

Why choose XPEL Ultimate Plus on a Rolls-Royce Cullinan?

Ultimate Plus is a gloss film that is close to invisible on the paint, so it protects a deep colour like burgundy without changing how the car looks.

A Cullinan is a big, upright SUV with a tall front end and long flanks, which means a lot of surface catches gravel, sand and debris from the road. On top of that, Dubai paint deals with strong UV, high summer temperatures, bird droppings and bug splatter. Ultimate Plus is built for exactly this: minor scratches and swirl marks heal with heat, it resists staining from road grime and droppings, and it is made to resist yellowing, cracking and peeling. The film carries a manufacturer warranty, and our team explains the terms at handover.

Owners who prefer a satin look can choose a matte film instead, and we cover the differences in our guide to paint protection film in Dubai. For this car the owner wanted to keep the factory gloss.

How was the PPF installed on the Cullinan?

We used XPEL’s DAP precut patterns designed for the Cullinan, so the film was cut on the plotter rather than with a blade on the paint, and no badges or body panels had to come off.

The process followed our standard order for a full-body job:

  • Inspection and photos of the existing chemical marks and door-panel marks.
  • Hand wash of the bonnet, front end and sides, then a rinse in the wash bay.
  • Surface cleaning and paint correction to remove swirl marks and light scratches.
  • Bonnet and panel preparation, then fitting the precut film panel by panel, including the coach doors.
  • Squeegeeing the film around the window line and tucking the edges into seams and crevices so they stay hidden and do not collect dirt.
  • Protecting the cabin with covers throughout, then hand-cleaning the white leather and wiping the trim.
  • A final wipe down, finishing at the bonnet by the Spirit of Ecstasy.

All of this happened inside our 20,000 sq ft studio in Al Quoz, in controlled installation bays that keep dust off the adhesive side of the film.

What does the finished Cullinan look like?

The finished car looks exactly like a freshly corrected burgundy Cullinan: deep gloss, sharp reflections and no visible film edges from normal viewing distance.

Because the paint was corrected before the film went on, the gloss under the film is cleaner than when the car arrived. The tucked edges keep the lines around the doors, bonnet and bumpers clean, and the white leather cabin was handed back freshly cleaned. If you want to compare finishes, see our red 2025 Cullinan with PPF and tint and the black Cullinan with paint correction and ceramic coating, two other Cullinans we have worked on.

How much does PPF cost on a Rolls-Royce Cullinan?

Full-body PPF at Apex starts from AED 13,500 for SUVs and trucks, depending on options, before 5% VAT. The final figure for a Cullinan depends on the film you choose, how much paint correction the car needs and any add-ons.

The Cullinan is a large car, so the amount of film and the time spent on correction both matter. Some owners add a ceramic coating on top of the film for extra water beading and easier washing; it is optional, not required. After installation we recommend PPF-safe shampoos, clean microfibre cloths and no acidic or abrasive cleaners, plus a yearly check of the film and edges at the studio. Frequently asked questions

Is PPF worth it on a Rolls-Royce Cullinan in Dubai?

Yes for most owners. The Cullinan has a tall front and long sides that catch gravel and sand, and PPF takes those chips instead of the original paint.

Will clear PPF change the colour of a burgundy Cullinan?

No. XPEL Ultimate Plus is a gloss film that is close to invisible, so the burgundy keeps its depth and shine.

Do I need ceramic coating on top of PPF?

No, it is optional. A coating over the film adds water beading and makes washing easier, but the film protects the paint on its own.

Can PPF be removed from a Cullinan later?

Yes. A professional can remove the film without harming the original factory paint underneath.

Do you remove badges or panels to fit the film?

No. We use XPEL DAP precut patterns made for the Cullinan, so badges and panels stay in place and edges are tucked into the seams.

How should I wash a Cullinan with PPF?

Use a pH-neutral, PPF-safe shampoo and clean microfibre cloths, avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, and book a yearly inspection with us.
