Why does paint lose its shine in Dubai?

How does polishing restore shine?
Modern car paint has a clear coat on top of the colour. When that clear coat is scratched, light scatters in different directions and the paint looks hazy or swirled. A machine polisher with an abrasive polish removes a very thin layer of clear coat, levelling the surface so light reflects evenly again. The skill is removing as little as possible: enough to fix the defect, never so much that the clear coat is weakened. That is why we measure paint thickness and work in stages.
What is our detailing and polishing process?
- Safe wash: pre-rinse, snow foam and a two-bucket hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo.
- Decontamination: iron fallout remover, tar remover and clay to make the paint smooth.
- Inspection: under strong lights we map swirls, scratches and holograms, and measure paint depth.
- Masking: trims, rubbers and badges are taped to protect them from the polisher.
- Correction: one or more polishing stages depending on the paint’s condition.
- Refining: a finishing polish for maximum gloss and clarity.
- Panel wipe and protection: oils are removed, then the paint is sealed with wax, sealant, ceramic coating or PPF.
What is the difference between one-stage and multi-stage correction?

Which cars benefit most from a detail and polish?
Almost any car looks better after a proper polish, but some gain far more than others:
- Dark colours, especially black, which show every swirl and scratch in the sun.
- Cars washed at automatic car washes or by roadside washers, where sand is dragged across the paint.
- Used cars before sale, where a clean, glossy finish makes a strong first impression.

The terms overlap. A one stage polish improves gloss and removes light swirls in a single pass, and suits paint in fair condition. Paint correction usually means a multi stage process, starting with a more cutting compound to remove deeper marks and finishing with fine polishes to refine the gloss. The right choice depends on how deep the damage is and how much clear coat the paint has left, which is why the paint is inspected closely before any polishing starts.
Why protect the paint after polishing?
Freshly polished paint is at its best, and it will start to mark again with the next careless wash. Protection locks in the result:
- Wax or sealant: short-term gloss and protection.
