STEK makes several types of paint protection film, and at Apex Detail Studio in Dubai we fit three of them: DYNOshield, FORCEshield and C Clear. All three are clear, gloss, self-healing films that stop stone chips and scratches. They differ in top coat, clarity, warranty and the kind of car they suit best.

Most people asking about PPF in Dubai start with the brand. The more useful question is which film from that brand. STEK sells a wide catalogue, and two clear films with the same logo on the box can behave quite differently on the car. Choosing the right one depends on your paint colour, how long you plan to keep the car and how much highway driving it does.
What types of STEK PPF are there?
STEK groups its films into families: the flagship DYNO line, the FORCEshield F series and regional lines such as C Clear. Across those families it makes clear gloss, matte, colour and patterned films, plus light and windshield protection.
For full-body clear protection we fit three STEK films:
- DYNOshield: STEK’s flagship clear gloss film from the DYNO line.
- FORCEshield: a clear gloss film from STEK’s F series, designed for everyday cars.
- C Clear: a high-gloss, crystal-clear STEK film sold in the UAE.
All three are made from TPU, a flexible plastic that absorbs stone impacts, stretches over curves and can be removed later without harming factory paint.
What is STEK DYNOshield?
DYNOshield is STEK’s top clear gloss PPF, built to be virtually invisible on factory gloss paint. It is the film we suggest when clarity and long-term protection matter most.
According to STEK, DYNOshield’s top coat is infused with nano-ceramic particles and bonded to the film as a liquid. That gives it strong water beading and an orange-peel-free finish, so the film does not add the slightly textured look that cheaper films can show on dark paint. Its adhesive is UV-resistant and made to resist yellowing, and STEK lists the film at 8 mils, about 200 microns.
- Clear gloss, orange-peel-free finish.
- Nano-ceramic infused, hydrophobic top coat.
- Self-healing with heat or warm water.
- Stain resistant and easy to clean.
- 10-year STEK manufacturer warranty against yellowing, bubbling, cracking and delamination.
DYNOshield makes the most sense on supercars, black and dark metallic paint, and cars you plan to keep for years.
What is STEK FORCEshield?
FORCEshield is STEK’s F series clear gloss film, made to give everyday cars premium protection. It suits daily drivers, family SUVs and cars that cover a lot of highway kilometres.
STEK describes FORCEshield as a high-gloss TPU film with minimal orange peel, a hydrophobic top coat and self-healing that removes light scratches with heat. It stops rock chips and road debris in the same way as the DYNO line, and STEK offers it in several grades within the F series.
- Clear gloss finish with minimal orange peel.
- Hydrophobic top coat for easier washing.
- Self-healing with heat.
- Protection against stone chips, scratches and road debris.
For an owner who wants the whole car protected for daily use in Dubai, FORCEshield is often the sensible choice.
What is STEK C Clear?
C Clear is a high-gloss, crystal-clear STEK PPF that adds depth to the paint’s shine. It is a practical clear film for daily drivers and SUVs.
C Clear is a TPU film with a hydrophobic surface and self-healing that works with heat. It also carries UV and chemical resistance and anti-yellowing technology, which matters on a car parked outside in Dubai sun. Like the other two films, it guards against stone chips and road debris.
- High-gloss, crystal-clear finish.
- Hydrophobic surface.
- Self-healing with heat.
- UV, chemical and anti-yellowing protection.
DYNOshield vs FORCEshield vs C Clear: how do they compare?
All three are clear gloss, self-healing and hydrophobic. The difference is in the top coat, the finish on dark paint and the warranty.
| Film | STEK family | Finish | Stand-out feature | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DYNOshield | DYNO (flagship) | Clear gloss, orange-peel-free | Nano-ceramic infused top coat, 10-year STEK warranty | Supercars, dark paint, long ownership |
| FORCEshield | FORCEshield F series | Clear high gloss, minimal orange peel | Premium protection made for everyday cars | Daily drivers, SUVs, high-mileage cars |
| C Clear | C Clear | Clear high gloss, crystal clear | UV, chemical and anti-yellowing protection | Daily drivers and SUVs |

Which STEK film should you choose for your car?
Choose DYNOshield for the best clarity and the longest STEK warranty; choose FORCEshield or C Clear for strong everyday protection on a daily driver. We help you decide at the studio by looking at the paint and asking how you use the car.
- Supercar or sports car: DYNOshield. The orange-peel-free finish keeps deep gloss paint looking factory fresh.
- Black or dark metallic paint: DYNOshield, because any texture in a film shows most on dark colours.
- Daily driver or family SUV: FORCEshield or C Clear, both made for everyday use.
- Lots of highway driving: any of the three on the full body, since stone chips come from the road, not the car’s price.
- Leasing or selling soon: FORCEshield or C Clear keep the paint clean for handover or resale.
Whichever film you choose, the fitting matters as much as the film. Read why we use precut patterns instead of cutting on the paint.
Does STEK PPF hold up in Dubai heat?
Yes. TPU film is made to handle heat, and the Dubai sun even helps the self-healing top coat close up light swirls. STEK builds UV resistance and anti-yellowing technology into these films, which protects both the film and the paint under it.
Sand, highway debris and harsh car washes are the bigger risks here. A clear film takes those hits instead of the paint. For more detail, see does PPF protect against stone chips and Dubai heat and our guide to why PPF can yellow, peel or lift.
How do we install STEK PPF at Apex Detail Studio?
The same way for all three films: a full decontamination, precut patterns and edges wrapped and tucked behind the panels where the panel allows. Full-body STEK PPF takes two to three days.
- Inspection. We check the paint for chips, swirls and old repairs before any film goes on.
- Wash and decontamination. A full wash and clay removes sand and road film so the adhesive bonds to clean paint.
- Pattern cutting. Film is cut on the plotter from patterns for your exact model, so no blade touches the paint.
- Fitting. Each panel is laid with slip solution, positioned and squeegeed flat.
- Edges. Edges are wrapped and tucked so the film line stays hidden.
- Settling and checks. The car stays with us while the film settles, then we inspect every panel before handover.

What warranty comes with STEK PPF?
DYNOshield carries STEK’s 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, bubbling, cracking and delamination. The warranty term for FORCEshield and C Clear depends on the film, and we confirm it in writing on your estimate before any work starts.
Warranties need the film fitted by an authorised installer using genuine STEK film, which is how every job at Apex is done. Read PPF warranty explained for what is covered and what can void a warranty.
How do you look after STEK PPF?
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and soft mitts.
- Avoid automatic brush car washes, which can scratch and lift edges.
- Keep pressure washer nozzles away from film edges.
- Rinse bird droppings and bug splatter off quickly.
- Let heat do the self-healing: light swirls fade in the sun or with warm water.
We also offer a yearly PPF maintenance package with a film inspection, hydrophobic refresh, hand wash and detail, and a UV check.
Frequently asked questions

Which STEK PPF is best for my car?

What is the difference between DYNOshield, FORCEshield and C Clear?
All three are clear gloss TPU films that stop stone chips and scratches. DYNOshield adds STEK’s nano-ceramic infused top coat, an orange-peel-free finish and a 10-year STEK warranty.
