This black Ford Raptor came into Apex Detail Studio for full window tint. The Ford Raptor window tint was fitted by hand to every side window and the rear glass in our Al Quoz studio, for more privacy, better heat rejection and a cooler cabin. Window tint at Apex starts from AED 2,500 before VAT.

A Raptor is made for long drives and desert weekends, and in Dubai that means hours in direct sun. A black truck soaks up heat, and a big glass area lets a lot of it into the cabin. Tint is one of the most useful upgrades for a truck like this.

The brief was clear: tint all round, neat edges, and a look that suits the black body and the Raptor graphics.

What was done to this Ford Raptor?

All side windows and the rear glass were tinted in one visit. Nothing else on the truck was changed.

The film goes on the inside of the glass, cut to the shape of each window and finished so the edges are tight. From outside, the truck looks darker and more finished. From inside, the cabin is cooler and the glare is softer.

Why get Ford Raptor window tint in Dubai?

Because a black pickup in Dubai sun gets very hot inside, and tint is the simplest way to fix that.

  • Heat rejection: good tint blocks part of the heat coming through the glass, so the cabin stays cooler and the air conditioning works less hard.
  • Privacy: it is harder to see into the cab and the back seats, which helps when bags or gear are left inside.
  • Glare: softer light makes long drives less tiring.
  • Interior: tint filters most of the UV that fades seats and dashboards over time.

For films, shades and what is allowed on UAE roads, see our window tint Dubai page.

What matters when tinting a pickup?

Big door glass, tall windows and a cab that is open to dust. Clean preparation and careful edges make the difference.

Pickup door windows are large, so each sheet of film is big and must go on without trapping dust or air. Trucks also tend to collect sand in the door seals, which is why the glass and seals are cleaned carefully before fitting. The door panels are covered and masked so the fitting solution does not reach the trim or the electrics.

How dark should you go on a Raptor?

Dark enough to cut heat and add privacy, but not so dark that you lose visibility at night or fall outside the rules on UAE roads.

Darker shades look good on a black truck, and many owners want the cab to match the body. But a darker film is not always the cooler one. Heat rejection depends on the type of film, not only on how dark it looks, so a quality lighter film can keep a cabin cooler than a cheap dark one. We go through the shades and what is allowed with each customer before fitting, so the truck looks right, stays legal and is still easy to see out of after sunset.

Choosing the right film

The main things to compare are heat rejection, clarity and how the film holds up over time. A good film stays clear, does not turn purple or bubble in the sun, and keeps rejecting heat year after year.

For a truck that spends weekends in the desert and weekdays in traffic, a film that rejects more heat is worth the difference in price. The team will show you the options side by side and explain what each one does, so you can choose the balance of look, comfort and budget that suits you.

How Apex fitted the tint

  1. Door panels were covered in plastic and masked with tape.
  2. The glass and seals were cleaned to remove dust and sand.
  3. Film was cut and shaped to each window.
  4. The film was laid on the inside of the glass with fitting solution.
  5. Installers squeegeed it flat from the centre to the edges.
  6. Edges were finished along the top of each window, and the truck was checked under the studio lights.

Should you add PPF to a Raptor?

If the truck goes off road, clear or matte PPF on the front and lower panels is worth considering, since sand and stones hit those areas hard.

Many Raptor owners protect the bonnet, front wings, arches and lower doors. We wrapped another Raptor in matte film, which you can see in our Ford Raptor matte PPF and tint article.

Aftercare for new window tint

Tint needs very little care once it has cured, but the first week matters. The film is still drying behind the glass, so a little patience now keeps it clear and tight for years. After that, treat the glass gently and the film will look after itself.

  • Keep the windows up for the first few days so the film can cure.
  • Small water spots or haze in the first days are normal and clear as the film dries.
  • Clean the inside of the glass with a soft microfibre and an ammonia free cleaner.
  • Keep sand out of the door seals where possible, as grit can scratch film when the window moves.
  • Send us a photo on WhatsApp if a bubble or edge does not settle.
