A Lamborghini meets Dubai roads nose first, and very low. The front splitter on a Huracán sits a few centimetres above the tarmac, which puts it right in the path of every pebble flicked up on the E311. The Urus sits higher, but its wide, flat bonnet and huge front intakes catch sand on every run to Al Qudra.

Factory Lamborghini paint is also expensive to repair well. Many cars leave Sant’Agata in special colours, pearl effects or matte finishes from the Ad Personam programme. A respray on a Verde Mantis Huracán or a matte grey Urus is never quite the car it was. That makes paint protection film a preservation decision, not a cosmetic extra.

Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear, self-healing urethane film applied over paint to absorb stone chips, scuffs and light scratches before they reach the clear coat. On a Lamborghini, how it is fitted matters as much as which film you choose.

Why is a Lamborghini harder to wrap than other cars?

Lamborghini design is built on sharp creases, deep hexagonal intakes and layered aero. Film has to follow every one of those shapes without stretching, lifting or showing a seam. That takes more time and more skill than a smooth saloon.

  • Deep front intakes. The Huracán and Temerario bumpers fold into deep recesses. Film must be laid in sections and joined where the join will not show.
  • Sharp body creases. The shoulder lines on a Revuelto are close to knife edges. Overstretched film here thins out and can lift over time.
  • Engine covers and vents. Louvred engine covers and rear vents sit near high heat. Edges must be finished so the film is not exposed to direct exhaust heat.
  • Exposed carbon fibre. Splitters, side blades, diffusers and mirror caps on STO and Performante models are often bare or gloss carbon. Film protects the resin from UV and chips.
  • Sensors and lift system. Front parking sensors and cameras need careful treatment, and the front lift system means the nose sees steep ramps.

This is why we cut patterns digitally and adjust them in software for each car. Our article on our PPF installation process explains how that reduces blade work on paint.

Which parts of a Lamborghini need PPF most?

The front splitter, bumper, bonnet, front wings and mirrors take most of the damage. On mid-engined cars, the area ahead of the rear wheels and the side intakes come next, because the front tyres throw debris straight at them.

Area Why it is exposed Huracán, Temerario, Revuelto Urus
Front bumper and splitter Lowest point, takes direct stone strikes Highest priority Highest priority
Bonnet and front wings Long flat surfaces facing the road Highest priority Highest priority
Side intakes and rear haunches Debris from the front tyres High priority Medium priority
Rocker panels and sills Kerbs, gravel and sand High priority High priority
Rear bumper and diffuser Car parks and following traffic Medium priority Medium, plus boot load lip
Carbon aero and mirror caps UV and chip damage to resin High on STO and Performante High on Performante

A Huracán Sterrato deserves a special mention. It was built for loose surfaces, with raised suspension, so it sees more grit than any other Lamborghini. Full-body ULTIMATE PLUS 10 makes the most sense here.

Can PPF go on matte Lamborghini paint?

Yes. STEALTH is a satin-finish film designed for matte and satin paint. It protects the surface while keeping the flat look that gloss film would ruin.

Matte paint cannot be polished, so a scratch on a matte Urus often means a panel respray. STEALTH lets you wash and drive the car without that worry. It can also turn a gloss car satin, which is popular on darker colours. The upgrade adds AED 500 to the full-body premium-tier price, before 5% VAT.

XPEL’s warranty information covers ULTIMATE PLUS and STEALTH for 10 years against yellowing, cracking, blistering and delamination, with professional installation and a registered warranty. Rock damage is not covered, which is normal: absorbing it is the film’s job.

STEK or XPEL for a Lamborghini?

Choose XPEL for a new or high-value Lamborghini, a matte finish or a car you plan to sell. Choose STEK if you want full-body cover at the entry price on a car you will keep and drive hard.

Both are full-body paint protection films installed with the same preparation and patterns at our studio. STEK is our entry tier, with the manufacturer warranty applying per the film maker’s terms and confirmed on your quote. XPEL is our premium tier, with the widest finish choice and the 10-year warranty above. Owners of other exotic cars weigh the same choice in our McLaren PPF guide.

How Apex Detail Studio does it

Every Lamborghini follows the same documented process at our 20,000 sq ft studio in Al Quoz. We are manufacturer accredited for both PPF and ceramic coating, and a team of 41 handles preparation, installation and quality control.

  1. Inspection. We record paint condition, previous repairs, existing film and carbon parts before confirming the plan.
  2. Wash and decontamination. Sand, iron fallout and tar come off every surface, including deep intakes.
  3. Paint assessment and correction. Swirls and defects are corrected where needed, because film magnifies what sits beneath it.
  4. Digital patterns. Vehicle-specific patterns are adjusted in software and plotter-cut, so there is minimal blade work on the paint.
  5. Installation. The film is laid panel by panel, with edges wrapped where safe and sensors and cameras treated carefully.
  6. Final inspection. Every panel, edge and corner is checked under studio lighting before release.

Many owners finish the job with a Gtechniq ceramic coating over the film for easier washing. For coverage options and films, see our page on paint protection film in Dubai.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to PPF a Lamborghini in Dubai?

At Apex Detail Studio, full-body PPF starts from AED 11,000, depending on the film (from AED 15,000 for XPEL on a Huracán, Temerario or Revuelto, AED 16,500 on a Urus), before 5% VAT. Deep intakes, carbon aero, paint correction and matte finishes usually raise the final quote above these starting prices.

Is full-body PPF worth it on a Lamborghini Urus?

For most Dubai owners, yes. The Urus is often driven daily, so its bonnet, bumper and wide wings take constant stone chips and sand. Many cars also wear special or matte colours that are hard to match after a respray. Full-body film keeps the original paint intact for the life of the car and for resale.

Can you put PPF on matte Lamborghini paint?

Yes. XPEL STEALTH is a satin-finish film made for matte and satin paint, so it protects the surface without adding gloss. It adds AED 500 to the full-body premium-tier price, before 5% VAT. Matte paint cannot be polished, so film is the safest way to drive and wash a matte Lamborghini regularly.

Should carbon fibre parts on a Lamborghini be wrapped?

Usually yes. Splitters, side blades, diffusers and mirror caps on STO, Performante and other models are often exposed carbon. Film helps protect the resin from UV and stone chips, which are expensive to repair. Gloss film suits gloss carbon, and satin (matte) PPF suits matte or forged carbon.

How long does Lamborghini PPF installation take?

A standard full-car installation at Apex Detail Studio is generally completed in two to three days. Lamborghini bodywork, with deep intakes, sharp creases and carbon aero, often needs longer, especially if paint correction is required first. We confirm the timing after inspecting the car.

Does PPF affect Lamborghini sensors and the front lift system?

It should not when fitted correctly. Front parking sensors, cameras and radar areas are treated carefully during installation so driver aids keep working. The front lift system is unaffected by film. We check sensor areas during the final inspection before the car is released.
