What is Mercedes PPF and why does it matter in Dubai?
Mercedes PPF is paint protection film: a clear or satin thermoplastic urethane layer, cut to the shape of each Mercedes-Benz panel, that takes the stone chips, sand and scratches that would otherwise damage the paint. In Dubai it matters because cars here face sand, highway debris, strong sun and frequent washing all year round.
Mercedes covers a wide range of cars in the UAE, from the CLA as a daily driver to the G-Class, the S-Class and Maybach, and the AMG models at the sharp end. They all share one thing: their value depends heavily on the condition of the paint. A chipped bonnet or sandblasted lower door means repainting, and a repaint never quite matches the factory finish.
Film prevents that damage in the first place. Its top layer heals light scratches with heat, it blocks UV that fades the colour, and it can be removed later from healthy factory paint, so the car you sell has the paint it was built with.
The right time to fit film is as early as possible, ideally when the car is new and the paint has not yet picked up chips. On a used Mercedes, we inspect the paint first and correct it where needed, so the film locks in a clean finish rather than old swirls.
How do we fit XPEL PPF on a Mercedes?
We plot every piece of film from XPEL DAP precut patterns made for the exact Mercedes model, then fit it by hand in a controlled installation bay. Because the film is cut off the car, the factory paint is never cut, and no badges, trims or panels need to come off. The star stays where Mercedes put it.
- Consult and inspect. Every job starts with a consultation, where we agree the film and coverage, then we check the paint under studio lighting for swirls, chips and old repairs.
- Wash and decontaminate. Anything left on the paint would be trapped under the film.
- Correct where needed. If the paint has swirls or light scratches, we polish first so the film seals in a clean finish.
- Plot and fit. DAP patterns are cut on the plotter and laid panel by panel, with edges finished carefully around grilles, sensors and trim.
- Inspect and reveal. Every panel and edge is checked before the final reveal and handover.
Mercedes shapes vary a lot. The G-Class is all flat panels and sharp edges, the S-Class and Maybach have long, smooth surfaces where any flaw shows, and AMG models have deep intakes and vents. Precut patterns cover every edge, curve and crevice, and our XPEL trained in-house team fits the film in a climate-controlled facility that keeps dust and contaminants away from the adhesive.
Which XPEL film did we fit on the CLE53 and the AMG G63?
We fitted XPEL Ultimate Plus on a Mercedes-AMG CLE53 coupe and XPEL Ultimate Fusion on an AMG G63. Both are self-healing and hydrophobic; the difference is that Ultimate Fusion combines paint protection and a ceramic coating layer in one film.
Mercedes-AMG CLE53. The CLE53 is a coupe with long, flowing panels where the finish is on show from every angle. Ultimate Plus is a high-gloss film, so it keeps the paint looking deep and factory fresh while it takes stone chips, sand and light scratches. Minor scratches and swirl marks in the film repair themselves with heat, whether from the sun or a heat gun.
Mercedes-AMG G63. The G63 is an off-road SUV, and owners use it that way, so we chose Ultimate Fusion. Its built-in ceramic layer repels mud and grime, which makes a dusty G-Class far easier to wash. Our team used DAP patterns to cover every edge, curve and crevice of the G63’s square body, without removing badges or trim.
Both films also block UV that fades paint, and both help protect against sandstorms, gravel and road debris. Read more about the second film in our XPEL Ultimate Fusion guide.

Which Mercedes models have we protected with PPF?
Besides the CLE53 and G63 above, we have protected the Mercedes-AMG G63 (2025), G500, S500, CLA, SL55, AMG GT Black Series and Maybach S680 with paint protection film at Apex. Each build page shows the car, the film and the coverage in detail.

Gloss or satin: which PPF finish suits a Mercedes?
Choose a clear gloss film if you want your Mercedes to look exactly as it left the factory, and a satin film if you want to turn gloss paint matte without changing the colour. XPEL PPF comes in high-gloss and matte finishes, and both are self-healing; the difference is the look.
| Finish | Look | Works well on |
|---|---|---|
| Clear gloss film | Keeps the factory shine and depth | Metallic and pearl colours, S-Class and Maybach where you want a deep reflective finish |
| Satin film | Soft matte look, same colour | G-Class and AMG models where owners want a more aggressive look, and cars that already have a factory matte finish |
If your Mercedes has a factory matte paint option, satin film is the right choice, because a gloss film would change the look the car was ordered with. We can show you both finishes on real cars in the studio before you decide.

What does PPF protect a Mercedes from in the UAE?
In the UAE, PPF protects a Mercedes mainly from sand and highway debris, heat and UV, wash swirls and contamination such as bird droppings and bug splatter. It keeps the original paint in showroom condition, which supports resale value.
- Sand and gravel: wind-blown sand and grit thrown from trucks sandblast the front end and lower panels. On a G-Class the upright front and flat bonnet take the brunt.
- Heat above 45C and UV: strong summer sun fades and oxidises paint over time. Film helps preserve the colour, and the heat helps its self-healing top layer work.
- Wash swirls: Dubai cars are washed often, and fine dust in a wash mitt leaves swirls. The film takes those marks instead of the clear coat.
- Contamination: bird droppings and bugs etch paint quickly in the heat. Film gives you more time to clean them off safely.
- Humidity: coastal dew leaves water spots; a smooth film surface sheds water more easily.
None of this means a protected Mercedes needs special treatment. A gentle hand wash with a pH neutral shampoo is enough, and light marks in the film tend to disappear on the next hot day.
Should a Mercedes get full-body or front-end PPF?
Full-body PPF covers every painted panel and is the choice for high-value cars like the G63, S-Class and Maybach, or any car changing to satin. Front-end coverage protects only the bonnet, bumper, wings and mirrors, which suits a daily driver such as a CLA on a tighter budget.
The front end takes the most stone strikes, so it is the minimum we recommend. But in Dubai the sides and rear take sand rash, door dings in car parks and wash swirls too, and on cars where every panel is expensive to repaint, full coverage is usually the better value over the life of the car. Large Mercedes SUVs and saloons have a lot of surface, so we always quote the coverage options side by side so you can choose.

Can you add ceramic coating and window tint to a Mercedes with PPF?
Yes. Ceramic coating can go over PPF and on the areas film does not cover, such as wheels and trim, for extra gloss and easier washing, and window tint cuts heat and glare in the cabin. Many Mercedes owners book all three in one visit.
We are XPEL and Gtechniq accredited, and our in-house team does film, coating and tint in our 20,000 sq ft studio in Al Quoz. Our AMG GT Black Series build, for example, combined PPF with window tint. For ceramic coating, tint and detailing, pricing depends on the car and the package; send your car details on WhatsApp for an exact quote.
How much does Mercedes PPF cost in Dubai?
Full-body PPF at Apex starts from AED 12,000 for sedans and AED 13,500 for SUVs and trucks (colour PPF from AED 15,000), depending on options, before 5% VAT. The final price for your Mercedes depends on the model, the film and finish, the coverage and how much paint correction the car needs first.
A CLA and a Maybach S680 are very different in size and detail, and satin film is priced differently from gloss. XPEL films carry a manufacturer warranty, and our team explains the terms when you book. Message us on +971 58 549 2739 with your Mercedes model, year and colour for an exact quote.

Frequently asked questions
Is PPF worth it on a Mercedes in Dubai?
For most owners, yes. Sand, highway debris and strong sun damage paint quickly, and film keeps the original Mercedes paint intact for resale.
Do you remove the Mercedes star or badges to fit PPF?
No. We use XPEL DAP precut patterns, so badges and trim stay on and no blade is used on the paint.
Can PPF make a gloss G-Class matte?
Yes. A satin film gives a matte look without changing the colour, and it can be removed later from healthy factory paint.
What is XPEL Ultimate Fusion on a Mercedes?
It is an XPEL paint protection film with a built-in ceramic layer. We used it on an AMG G63, where it repels mud and grime as well as stopping chips.
Can I add ceramic coating to a Mercedes with PPF?
Yes. Ceramic coating can go over the film and on wheels and trim for extra gloss and easier washing.
Which Mercedes models has Apex protected with PPF?
Our Mercedes work includes a CLE53, G63, G500, S500, CLA, SL55, AMG GT Black Series and Maybach S680.
Where can I get Mercedes PPF in Dubai?
