What was done to this Porsche 996 Turbo?
The 996 Turbo had a full exterior and interior revival: paint, colour PPF, tints, wheels and upholstery.
It arrived with worn paint and bodywork damage. We repaired and repainted the panels in our spray booth, wrapped the car in colour paint protection film, tinted the windows, restored and painted the wheels, and re-upholstered the interior. The result is a 996 Turbo that looks newer than it has in years.
How was the paintwork restored?
Damaged panels were prepared, masked and repainted in the spray booth before any film went on.
Film locks in whatever is underneath, so the paint had to be right first. Once the fresh paint had cured, the car was ready for colour PPF. Read our guide on how long car paint repair takes for more on the process.

How was the colour PPF installed?
The film was cut on the plotter and fitted panel by panel, with edges wrapped and trimmed around the 996’s curves, vents and lights.
- Pattern cutting. Film patterns were cut on the plotter for each panel.
- Panel installation. Film was laid with slip solution and squeegeed out across the doors, wings, bumpers and rear wing.
- Edges and details. Edges were wrapped into the door shuts, around the side intakes and lights.
- Final check. The finish was inspected under studio lighting.
Our installation process guide explains each stage.
Step by step on this 996 Turbo
These stills come from the full build video further down the page, so every photo shows this exact car in our Al Quoz studio.

What happened to the wheels?
The wheels were removed, masked and repainted in the spray booth so they match the fresh look of the car.
Kerbed and faded wheels let down an otherwise perfect car. Restoring them completes the transformation.

How was the interior restored?
The interior was fully restored with completely new upholstery, including red leather and houndstooth fabric inserts.
The seats were stripped and re-trimmed, and the steering wheel and cabin surfaces were cleaned and refreshed. For more interior work, see our Porsche 911 Carrera interior PPF and tint job.

New upholstery and a refreshed cabin, shown here on the same car.
