Porsche 911 GT3 PPF in Dubai: XPEL Ultimate Fusion and Dry Ice Cleaning

This Porsche 911 GT3 came to Apex Detail Studio in Al Quoz, Dubai, for XPEL Ultimate Fusion paint protection film. We corrected the paint, fitted the film from DAP precut patterns with fully tucked edges, and gave the GT3 a dry ice clean. Fusion carries a ceramic layer in the film, so no separate coating was needed. What did we do to this Porsche 911 GT3?

We protected this Porsche 911 GT3 with XPEL Ultimate Fusion paint protection film, after a full exterior polish and paint correction, and finished the job with a dry ice clean. The result is a GT3 with corrected, glossy paint sealed under a self-healing film that also has a ceramic-style top layer.

The GT3 is a car people actually drive hard, on fast roads out of the city and around places like Dubai Marina, which means the nose, bumper and front arches take a steady stream of grit and stone strikes. Our job was to stop that damage reaching the paint without changing how the car looks. We cut the film from XPEL DAP precut patterns, so no blade went near the paint, and we wrapped the edges fully so the film is very hard to see.

We also offer an annual maintenance service for the film, so the GT3 can come back to have the surface checked, cleaned and refreshed.

How was the PPF installed on the GT3?

We corrected the paint first, then fitted XPEL Ultimate Fusion from DAP precut patterns with full tuck-in edges, without removing badges, bumpers or body panels. Correction comes first because the film locks in whatever is underneath it.

The process followed three main steps:

1. Polish and correct. We gave the whole exterior a full polish and paint correction to remove swirls and light defects, so the paint under the film is as clean and glossy as possible.
2. Cut with DAP precut. XPEL’s Design Access Program holds patterns for each panel of the car. We plotted the film from those patterns, which reduces the risk of damage from a blade on the paint, keeps coverage symmetrical side to side and makes the install faster and more consistent.
3. Apply and tuck. Each panel was laid and the edges were wrapped around and tucked in, so film lines are hidden rather than sitting on the visible face of the panel.

Why did the GT3 also get dry ice cleaning?

Dry ice cleaning lets us clean areas that a normal wash cannot reach safely, such as the underside, arches and mechanical areas, without water or harsh scrubbing. It suited this GT3 because it removes built-up grime while being gentle on the surfaces around it.

What does the finished 911 GT3 look like?

The finished GT3 looks like a freshly corrected car with no visible film lines, because the edges are tucked and the Fusion film is a clear gloss. From normal viewing distance you see paint, not plastic.

The corrected paint gives the film a clean base, so reflections stay sharp across the bonnet, wings and doors. Water beads and rolls off the hydrophobic top layer, and light marks from washing or a careless brush past the car heal back in the heat. The car can now be driven the way a GT3 should be driven, with the paint protected underneath.
