What was done to this Porsche 911 GT3 RS Weissach?
The GT3 RS Weissach received a full premium paint protection package with premium gloss PPF, plus windshield protection film.
The GT3 RS is built for the track, with a wide front, deep vents and a large rear wing. It takes stone chips and track debris at speed, and the exposed carbon of the Weissach Pack needs protecting as well. For other GT3 builds, see the GT3 Touring PPF and the 992 GT3 PPF.
Why does a GT3 RS take more stone chips than most cars?
The GT3 RS is built around aerodynamics. Its front end is low and wide, with large intakes, a deep splitter and vents cut into the bonnet and front wings, and the huge rear wing and side intakes sit right in the path of debris thrown up by the front tyres. Add sticky track tyres that pick up and fling small stones, and the RS collects chips faster than almost any road car.
A full body package covers all of that, not just the nose. The film takes the chips on the bumper, bonnet, wings, sills and the leading edges of the rear arches, so the silver paint stays clean whether the car is used on the road or on track. Our guide to track day PPF explains which areas matter most.
What is the DAP precut method?
DAP is the manufacturer’s pattern software. Each panel is cut on a plotter to the exact shape of the car, so the film can be fitted with full coverage without removing parts like bumpers, lights or the wing. Read more in what is precut DAP.

Why add windshield protection film?
A track car with a steep windscreen catches stones from the cars ahead. Windshield film absorbs those hits and helps stop chips and cracks, protecting an expensive glass part.

How do you look after a GT3 RS after PPF?
- Wait about a week before the first wash or track day so the film can settle.
- After a track day, wash off rubber pick up and brake dust quickly so it does not bake on in the heat.
- Hand wash with a pH neutral shampoo and avoid brush car washes.
- Keep pressure washer nozzles away from film edges around the vents and aero parts.
- Check the film on the front end after hard track use, and let the team replace any panel that has taken a heavy hit.
