Matte or satin PPF turns a Porsche 911 from gloss to a soft, low sheen finish without any paint, and protects the factory paint underneath at the same time. At Apex Detail Studio in Dubai, satin film on a 911 is quoted per car; full clear PPF on a 911 starts from AED 14,000 before 5% VAT.

What is matte or satin PPF on a Porsche 911?
Satin PPF is the same self healing urethane film we use for clear protection, with a top layer that scatters light instead of reflecting it. The paint colour stays the same; the shine drops to a soft, even sheen.
People call it matte, satin or stealth. On a 911 the result looks closer to satin than to a flat, chalky matte: the body lines still read clearly, especially across the rear haunches and the bonnet.

Can you make a 911 satin without painting it?
Yes. Satin film goes over the factory gloss paint and changes the finish without touching it. Nothing is sanded, nothing is sprayed, and the original paint is still there if the film is ever removed.
That matters on a 911 more than on most cars. Original paint is a big part of a 911’s value, and a respray shows up on a paint depth gauge when the car is sold. Film gives the satin look and keeps the paint factory original. If the car already has factory matte paint, the same film protects it; our guide to protecting factory matte paint explains how.

Gloss, satin or colour PPF on a 911?
All three protect the paint. The difference is the look you leave with.
| Option | Look | Colour | Starting price (before 5% VAT) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clear gloss PPF | Factory gloss, as Porsche delivered it | Unchanged | From AED 14,000 |
| Satin PPF | Soft, low sheen finish | Unchanged | Quoted per car |
| Colour PPF | New colour, gloss or satin | Changed | From AED 15,000 |

Does satin suit every 911?
Satin works on any 911, from a Carrera to a GT3 RS, but it changes some colours more than others. Dark and metallic colours change the most, because the reflections that define them are softened. Light colours look calmer and more architectural.
- Body lines: satin makes the shape of the car the focus instead of the reflections, so the rear haunches and the line of the bonnet stand out.
- Contrast: gloss parts that are not filmed, such as lights and glass, stand out more against a satin body.
- GT cars: on cars with large wings and intakes, satin film keeps the busy aero parts looking clean.

How is satin film fitted on a 911?
The same way we fit clear film on every 911, with more care on the curves. The car is washed and decontaminated, the paint is checked, film patterns are cut on our plotter for the exact car, and every edge is tucked so there is no line showing.
Satin film is less forgiving than gloss. If it is overstretched, the sheen can change, so the rear haunches, the front wings and the bumper corners are set slowly. Our PPF installation process explains each step in detail.

How much does satin PPF cost on a 911?
Satin PPF on a 911 is quoted per car. Full clear PPF on a 911 starts from AED 14,000 and colour PPF from AED 15,000, both before 5% VAT.
The quote depends on the model, the coverage and the condition of the paint. A brand new car goes straight to film; a car with swirls or chips may need paint correction first, because film locks in whatever is underneath. Film and workmanship are both covered for 5 years.
How do I look after a satin 911?
Satin film is easy to live with if you keep gloss products away from it. Wash it by hand, and never polish or wax it.
- Wash: use a pH neutral shampoo and soft mitts. Avoid brush car washes.
- No wax or polish: both fill the texture and leave shiny patches.
- Coating: a coating made for matte finishes adds water beading without adding gloss. See whether matte and satin cars can be ceramic coated.
- Bird droppings and sand: clean them off soon, especially in summer.
We also offer a yearly PPF maintenance package: film inspection, hydrophobic refresh, hand wash and detail, and a UV check.
