What was done to this Tesla Model Y Performance?
Every painted panel was covered with stealth paint protection film, a satin-finish film that turns gloss paint into a soft, low-sheen look. The car also had window film fitted, which you can see being heat-shaped on the glass in the video.
The result is a Model Y Performance that looks completely different from the standard car on the road, with a protective layer over the paint that takes the knocks instead of the clear coat. For the newer Juniper in satin grey, see our Tesla Model Y Juniper XPEL Stealth PPF build.

Why choose stealth PPF on a white Tesla?
Stealth PPF gives a white Tesla a satin finish without repainting or wrapping it in vinyl. The colour stays the factory white, but the finish becomes flat and smooth, which suits the clean lines of the Model Y.
Unlike a colour wrap, the film is a paint protection product first. It absorbs stone chips on the motorway, resists light scratches from washing and car park contact, and helps the paint stay protected from Dubai sun and sand. Because it is a film, the satin look is reversible: the factory gloss is still underneath. For more on satin films, read our guide on protecting matte and satin finishes.
How did Apex Detail Studio wrap the Model Y Performance?
We wrapped the car panel by panel, with edges tucked wherever the body allows so the satin film finishes out of sight.
- Inspection and wash. The paint was washed and checked before any film went on.
- Panel preparation. Each panel was cleaned and prepared so the film bonds evenly.
- Film installation. Stealth film was laid with slip solution, positioned, then squeegeed out panel by panel.
- Edges and details. Bonnet, door and boot edges were wrapped, and the film was trimmed around the light bar, tail lights and bumpers.
- Final inspection. The satin finish was checked across the whole car under studio lighting before handover.

Step by step on this Model Y Performance
These stills come from the full build video further down the page, so every photo shows this exact car in our Al Quoz studio.

Was window film also fitted?
Yes. The video shows window film being heat-shaped on the glass and fitted from inside the car, alongside the stealth PPF.
Shaping the film with a heat gun before fitting lets it follow the curve of the glass so it sits flat with no fingers or bubbles at the edges. In a Dubai summer, good window film makes a real difference to cabin comfort. See our Tesla Model 3 window tint job for another example.

How much does stealth PPF cost on a Tesla Model Y in Dubai?
Full-body PPF at Apex starts from AED 11,000 depending on the film, before 5% VAT, and satin or stealth film adds a small premium over gloss.
The final price depends on the film and how much of the car you cover. Send your Tesla details on WhatsApp and the team will reply with options and a quote. Our PPF cost guide for Dubai breaks down what affects the price.

How do you care for a Tesla with stealth PPF?
Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and avoid waxes, polishes or glossy sprays, which can leave shiny patches on a satin film.
Rinse sand and dust off before touching the paint, use clean microfibre towels, and keep automatic brush washes away from the car. Bird droppings and tree sap should come off quickly in the Dubai heat. A satin-safe ceramic coating on top of the film makes cleaning even easier; see our Tesla Model Y ceramic coating article.
