Jetour G700 off-road protection starts with full body PPF, because desert sand, gravel tracks and wadi stones attack the lower doors, arches, bumpers and bonnet first. Film absorbs that damage so the factory paint survives every trip. At Apex Detail Studio in Dubai, full PPF for SUVs starts from AED 13,500 before 5% VAT.

Why does desert driving damage a G700’s paint?
Sand is abrasive and it moves fast. When tyres throw sand and small stones at speed, it acts like a sandblaster on the lower body, dulling and chipping the clear coat in a single trip.
The G700 is built as a serious off-roader, so owners use it on dunes, gravel tracks and mountain wadis. Each brings different damage:
- Dunes: fine sand blasting the lower doors, sills and rear quarters, plus sand packed into panel gaps.
- Gravel and graded tracks: stone chips on the bumpers, arch edges and the leading edge of the bonnet.
- Wadis and camping spots: branch scratches along the doors and mirrors when the track narrows.
- Sun: UV and surface heat on the roof, bonnet and tailgate while the car sits at camp.

Which parts of a G700 need the most protection off-road?
The lower third of the car and the front end. These are the areas closest to the tyres and facing the direction of travel.
| Area | Main threat | Why film helps |
|---|---|---|
| Front bumper and bonnet edge | Stone chips | Absorbs impact before it reaches paint |
| Wheel arches and quarters | Sand blasting from tyres | Sacrificial, replaceable layer |
| Lower doors and sills | Sand and gravel spray | Keeps clear coat from dulling |
| Doors and mirrors | Branch scratches | Self-healing top layer recovers from light marks |
| Roof, bonnet, tailgate | UV and heat | UV blocking film protects the paint |
Because damage lands everywhere, we recommend full body film rather than a front only kit on a car that goes off-road. Our high impact coverage guide for the Land Cruiser follows the same thinking for another desert favourite, and our Ford Raptor R PPF build shows full film on a dedicated off-roader.
Is PPF strong enough for the dunes?
PPF is the strongest practical protection for paint, but it is a sacrificial layer, not armour. It takes the sand and chips so the paint does not. If a section of film is heavily worn after years of hard use, that panel of film can be replaced without touching the paint.
What film will not stop is a hard impact such as a rock strike or contact with a tree trunk. For those, careful driving and recovery gear matter more than any coating.

Does matte PPF work for off-road use?
Yes. Matte film protects just as well as gloss and hides light dust between washes. It needs matte safe products and should never be polished. See our blue G700 GAIA matte PPF build for how it looks on this car.

How should I wash a G700 after a desert trip?
Rinse first, touch later. Most wash scratches come from rubbing sand across the paint, so remove as much as possible with water before any mitt touches the car.
- Rinse thoroughly: start with the lower body, arches and panel gaps, where sand collects.
- Pre wash foam: let it dwell to lift remaining grit, then rinse again.
- Contact wash gently: pH neutral shampoo, a clean soft mitt and two buckets.
- Check the edges: make sure no sand is trapped along the film edges or around the spare wheel cover.
- Dry with soft towels: avoid dragging sand across the surface.
Avoid automatic brush washes straight after the desert. If sand has worked into the engine bay or underbody areas, our dry ice cleaning is a deep clean option that uses no water on sensitive parts; see dry ice versus steam cleaning. Our yearly PPF maintenance package includes a film inspection, hydrophobic refresh, hand wash and detail, and a UV check.
What else should a G700 owner protect before off-roading?
Window tint and interior protection help on long desert days. Tint keeps the cabin cooler while the car is parked at camp, and interior protection film keeps sand and grit from scratching screens and gloss trim. What our PPF customers say
Frequently asked questions
Does PPF protect a Jetour G700 from desert sand?
Yes. Full body PPF absorbs sand blasting and stone chips on the lower panels, arches and front end, so the factory paint underneath stays intact.
Which parts of the G700 get damaged most off-road?
The front bumper, bonnet edge, wheel arches, lower doors, sills and mirrors.
Is a front only PPF kit enough for off-road use?
We recommend full body film for off-road use because sand and branches damage the sides and rear as well as the front.
How much is full PPF on a G700 for off-road use?
Full PPF for SUVs starts from AED 13,500 before 5% VAT at Apex Detail Studio, depending on options.
How do I wash sand off a G700 with PPF?
Rinse thoroughly first, use a pre wash foam, then wash gently with pH neutral shampoo and a soft mitt. Do not rub dry sand across the film.
Can damaged PPF be replaced after a desert trip?
Yes. Worn or damaged film can be replaced panel by panel without touching the paint.
