What did we do to this Rivian R1T?

Why does an electric pickup like the R1T need PPF in Dubai?

Because a truck that goes off-road and on the motorway takes more stone chips, sand and grime than most cars, and Dubai’s sun adds UV and heat on top.

The R1T’s upright front, wide bonnet and long flanks sit right in the path of gravel thrown up by other vehicles. How was the Ultimate Fusion PPF installed on the R1T?

We followed five steps: assessment and paint correction, precut film application, full tuck-in of the edges, activation of the hydrophobic layer, and a final inspection.

1. Assessment and paint correction. We checked the paint and removed scratches and swirl marks so the film would sit on a smooth surface.
2. Precut film. Patterns came from XPEL’s DAP precut software, cut on the plotter, so no badges or panels had to come off and no blade touched the paint.
3. Full tuck-in. Edges were wrapped into seams and crevices, which hides them and stops dirt collecting under the film.
4. Hydrophobic activation. The film’s water-repelling top layer was activated.
5. Final inspection. We checked every panel before handover.

What does the finished R1T look like?

The R1T looks like itself with extra gloss: the film is virtually invisible and the tucked edges keep the panel lines clean.
