This Tesla Cybertruck arrived in bare stainless steel and left in brown. The Tesla Cybertruck brown colour PPF covers every exterior body panel, and the glass was tinted in the same visit at our Al Quoz studio. The film changes the colour and protects the steel underneath. Colour PPF at Apex starts from AED 15,000 before VAT, depending on options.

The Cybertruck is one of the few vehicles on the road with no paint at all. The body is stainless steel straight from the factory, which is a big part of its look, but also the reason many owners want to change it. Stainless shows fingerprints and water marks, and it cannot be resprayed the way a normal car can without a lot of work.
Colour change PPF solves both problems in one go. This owner chose brown, a colour that suits the sharp lines of the truck and looks completely different from the silver everyone recognises.
What was done to this Tesla Cybertruck?
The whole body was wrapped in brown colour change PPF, and the windows were tinted. One visit, one handover.
Colour PPF is paint protection film with the colour built in. It changes the look the way a wrap does, but it is a thicker, self healing film, so the stainless steel underneath stays covered against scratches, swirl marks and the small dents of daily use in car parks. If the owner ever wants the steel look back, the film can be removed.
Why choose Tesla Cybertruck brown colour PPF over paint?
Because painting stainless steel is a permanent, specialist job, while colour PPF is reversible and protects at the same time.
- Reversible: the factory finish stays untouched under the film.
- Protective: the film takes the scratches and marks instead of the steel.
- Easier to live with: a filmed body hides fingerprints far better than bare stainless.
- Resale: a future buyer can choose the original look again.
We have taken several Cybertrucks through colour changes now. If you are still deciding, our guide to Cybertruck PPF in Dubai: stainless steel and colour film options compares clear film with colour film, and the green Cybertruck shows another colour on the same truck.
How do you wrap a Cybertruck in colour PPF?
Panel by panel, with large sheets of film. The flat panels are simple; the edges, door openings and light bar are where the skill is.
The Cybertruck looks simple because the panels are flat, but they are very large. Each sheet of film has to be laid, positioned and squeegeed down without trapping air across a big area. The door edges are the part most people miss: if they are not wrapped, a line of bright steel shows every time a door opens. On this truck the film was taken around the door edges so the brown carries on when the doors are open.
- The body was washed and decontaminated so nothing is trapped under the film.
- Large sheets of brown film were laid on each panel with fitting solution.
- Installers squeegeed the film flat from the centre out, working around door openings and handles.
- Edges were wrapped behind the panels and around the door shuts where possible.
- The light bar and lower trims were finished with careful cuts.
- The glass was tinted, then the whole truck was checked under the studio lights.
Step by step on this Tesla Cybertruck
These stills come from the reel of this truck, so every image below is this exact Cybertruck.

Watch the Cybertruck transformation
The reel follows the truck from bare stainless steel to brown, with the tint going on and the finished truck in the studio.
Why add window tint at the same time?
The large glass area on a Cybertruck lets in a lot of heat. Tint makes the cabin cooler and gives the truck a darker, more finished look against the brown film.
Doing both jobs in one visit means one booking and one handover. Read more about films and shades on our window tint Dubai page, or see our earlier Cybertruck window tint job.
How do you choose a colour for a Cybertruck?
Start with how you use the truck and how bold you want it to look. Darker colours like this brown, black or deep green suit the hard edges and hide road dust well. Brighter colours make more of a statement but show dirt sooner.
We show film samples on the truck itself in the studio, under proper light, because a small swatch on a screen never looks the same as a full panel. The finish matters too. A gloss film reflects light along the creases of the body, while a low sheen finish makes the shape look more solid and modern. On a vehicle this large, seeing the film on the real panel before deciding saves a lot of second guessing.
What is it like to live with a filmed Cybertruck?
Easier than bare steel. Fingerprints and water spots that show up straight away on stainless are much harder to see on a colour film, so the truck looks clean for longer between washes.
The film is also self healing, so light swirls from washing fade in the heat. If the truck takes a deeper scratch in a car park, the damaged section of film can be replaced without touching the steel underneath. For an owner who uses the truck every day, that is a big part of the appeal.

How much does colour change PPF cost in Dubai?
Colour PPF at Apex Detail Studio starts from AED 15,000 before 5% VAT, depending on options. Window tint starts from AED 2,500 before VAT.

A truck as large as the Cybertruck uses a lot of film, and door edges and trims add time, so the final price is confirmed once we see the vehicle. Our guide to PPF cost in Dubai explains what drives the price.
Aftercare for colour PPF
- Wait about a week before the first full wash.
- Hand wash with a pH neutral shampoo and soft mitts.
- Avoid automatic car washes with brushes.
- Keep a pressure washer nozzle away from film edges.
- Bird droppings and tree sap should come off quickly, before the sun bakes them on.
