Every Cybertruck leaves the factory the same colour, because it has no paint at all. The body is brushed stainless steel: tough, but it shows fingerprints and marks, and every truck on the road looks the same. Colour PPF changes that. Our reel caption put it simply: one Cybertruck, completely different presence. We have also taken Cybertrucks gloss black with colour PPF and satin black on a Cyberbeast, so green adds a third look to the Cybertrucks we have finished in Al Quoz.
What was done to this Tesla Cybertruck?
The whole stainless steel body was covered in gloss green colour-change PPF, and the windows were fitted with premium window tint. Here is how the work broke down across the truck.
| Area | What we did |
|---|---|
| Front panel and bonnet line | Large sheets of green film laid and squeegeed onto the steel |
| Roof line and pillars | One wide sheet stretched over the roof line by two installers |
| Doors | Film wrapped around the door edges so no steel shows when they open |
| Bed sides and rear quarters | Long sheets laid by several installers to keep the film crease free |
| Tailgate | Film worked across the tailgate, with the CYBRTRK lettering still visible |
| Windows | Premium window tint fitted from inside the cabin |

Why use colour PPF on a stainless steel Cybertruck?
Because there is no paint to respray. Painting stainless steel is a major and permanent job, while colour PPF changes the look without altering the metal underneath, and it can be removed later.
The film also makes daily ownership easier. Bare stainless steel picks up fingerprints, water spots and marks, and scratches in the brushed finish are hard to repair. A gloss film is far easier to wash, and it takes the stone chips and light scratches instead of the steel. In Dubai, with strong sun, sand and frequent washing, that protective layer earns its place. Our guide to Cybertruck PPF and colour film options covers the choices in more depth, and we explain the difference between colour PPF and a vinyl wrap separately.

What makes a Cybertruck harder to film than a normal car?
Its shape and size. The Cybertruck is built from large, flat, angular panels with sharp creases, which leaves nowhere to hide an uneven line or a badly placed seam. Every edge is on show.
The panels are also huge. A single sheet across the bed side or the roof line is too big for one person to handle, so on this truck we had two or three installers on a panel at a time, lifting and positioning the film together before anyone touched it with a squeegee. Door edges, the tailgate and the long bed area all need careful planning so the colour looks continuous from every angle.
How did Apex Detail Studio change the Cybertruck from steel to green?
Panel by panel, in a controlled studio, with slip solution under the film so each sheet could be positioned before it was fixed down.
- Inspection and clean. We checked the steel panels and cleaned and degreased the body so the film would bond properly.
- Solution prep. Slip and tack solutions were mixed and ready at the truck before the first sheet came out.
- Front first. The first large sheet of green went over the front of the truck and was squeegeed into place.
- Roof, doors and sides. The team worked around the truck: roof line, doors, bed sides and rear quarters, with more hands on the biggest sheets.
- Edges and details. Film was wrapped around the door edges and worked across the door frames, pillars and tailgate.
- Window tint. Premium tint was fitted to the windows from inside the cabin once the body film was done.
- Final check. Every edge, seam and window was checked under the studio lights before handover.

How much does colour PPF and tint cost on a Cybertruck in Dubai?
Full-body PPF at Apex starts from AED 15,000 for colour PPF, depending on options, before 5% VAT. Colour film on a vehicle the size of a Cybertruck is quoted after inspection, and window tint is priced alongside it.
Send your truck’s details on WhatsApp for a first figure. For more on pricing, read our PPF cost guide for Dubai, and for glass, our guide to the best window tint for Tesla and electric vehicles. If you would rather keep the steel look, see our clear full PPF on a Cybertruck.
How should you look after a green filmed and tinted Cybertruck?
Gently. Hand washing and a little patience in the first days after tinting keep the film and the tint looking right for years.
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, and rinse sand off before touching the paintwork film.
- Keep pressure-washer nozzles away from film edges and panel seams.
- Avoid brush car washes.
- Do not roll the tinted windows down for the first few days after installation.
- Clean tinted glass with a soft cloth and an ammonia-free cleaner.
- Book a periodic check of film edges, especially around the bed and tailgate.
Our window tint aftercare guide covers the first days after tinting in detail.

Frequently asked questions
What did Apex Detail Studio do to this Tesla Cybertruck?
We changed the Cybertruck from bare stainless steel to gloss green with full colour-change PPF at our Al Quoz studio, then fitted premium window tint to the glass.
Can you change the colour of a Cybertruck without painting it?
Yes. The Cybertruck has no paint, so colour-change PPF is the practical way to give it a new colour. The film sits on top of the stainless steel and also protects it.
Is colour PPF removable from a stainless steel Cybertruck?
Yes. A professional installer can remove the film later, which returns the truck to its original stainless steel look.
How much does a Cybertruck colour change cost in Dubai?
Full-body PPF at Apex starts from AED 15,000 for colour PPF, depending on options, before 5% VAT. Colour film on a truck the size of a Cybertruck is quoted after inspection, with window tint priced alongside if you want it.
Is colour PPF better than a vinyl wrap on a Cybertruck?
Colour PPF is thicker than vinyl and adds real protection against chips and scratches, while a vinyl wrap is mainly a cosmetic colour change. On bare steel that marks easily, the extra protection is the main reason owners choose PPF.
How dark can window tint be on a car in the UAE?
UAE rules have generally allowed up to 50% tint on the side and rear windows of private vehicles. Rules can change, so we confirm the current legal limit with you before fitting.
Do I need to tell the RTA about a colour change?
The registered colour is expected to match the vehicle in the UAE, so check with the RTA about updating the registration after a full colour change.
How do I book my Cybertruck in at Apex?
