What was done to this Porsche 911 997?
The 997 was wrapped in green colour change PPF from silver, and its interior was restored and detailed.
The 997 generation is one of the most admired 911s, and a colour change gives a classic a completely new character without touching the original paint. The interior restoration brings the cabin up to the same standard as the outside.
Why change an older 911’s colour with film instead of paint?
The 997 is one of the most admired 911 generations, and part of what makes a good one valuable is its originality. A full respray changes the car for good: buyers ask why it was painted, and the original factory silver is gone. Colour change PPF gives the same dramatic new look without touching the paint underneath. The green film sits on top of the silver, protects it from chips and sun, and can be removed later if the owner ever wants the car back to factory spec.
On a car of this age there is a second benefit. Film also covers small marks and stops new stone chips from adding to them, so the car looks fresh while the original finish is preserved. Our guide to colour PPF vs vinyl wrap explains why film is the better choice for a car you want to keep.
How was the colour change PPF fitted?
The paint was polished, door cards were removed for full edge wraps, then green film was stretched and fitted panel by panel.
- Preparation. The silver paint was machine polished and the panels cleaned.
- Disassembly. Door cards and trims were removed so the film can wrap deep into edges.
- Film installation. Green film was stretched over the 997’s curves and squeegeed out.
- Details. Film was worked around the engine grille, handles, mirrors and door shuts.
- Reassembly and inspection. Trims went back on and the finish was checked.

What did the interior restoration include?
The leather was cleaned and conditioned, the classic dashboard and trim were restored, and the whole cabin was detailed and protected.
Older leather dries out in Dubai heat, so conditioning brings back its softness and colour. For another interior project, see our Porsche 996 Turbo restoration. We also turned a yellow GT4 green, see the Porsche Cayman GT4 colour change build.

How do you keep a restored interior looking good in Dubai?
The interior on this 997 had its leather cleaned and conditioned, the dashboard and trim restored, and the surfaces protected. In Dubai the sun is the biggest enemy of an older cabin: heat dries out leather and UV fades dashboards and trim. A few habits keep the work looking fresh:
- Park in the shade or use a sunshade whenever you can.
- Clean and condition the leather regularly, more often in summer.
- Use gentle, pH balanced interior cleaners, not all purpose sprays.
- Consider window tint to cut the UV coming through the glass. See our UAE window tinting guide.
