How does Apex handle the hardest parts of a Tesla?
Each Tesla has its own difficult areas, and the Cybertruck is a different job altogether.
- Cybertruck stainless steel: there is no clearcoat to polish, so marks go straight into the steel. The steel is washed, degreased and decontaminated, then the large flat panels are laid in big sheets so no seams show.
- Cybertruck door shuts: on a colour change, the door shuts and inner tailgate are finished in peelable paint so no steel shows with the doors open.
- The front light bar: on the new Model Y Juniper and Performance, film is laid across the light bar and trimmed by hand.
- Bonnet and boot edges: film is wrapped under the edges, not cut short on the face of the panel where it lifts.
- Model X falcon doors: the shuts and inner edges are finished so the new colour carries through when the doors open.
- Frameless glass: tint on the Model 3, Model Y and Model S is cut and shrunk for each piece of curved glass.
What does Apex do before any film goes on?
Every Tesla is inspected, washed, decontaminated and checked under studio light first. PPF locks in whatever is underneath, so the preparation decides how the finished car looks.
We check the paint or steel with you and record any marks. The car gets a full foam wash, then decontamination. If there are swirls or chips on a painted Tesla, the paint is corrected before film. Film patterns are cut on our plotter for the exact car, including the new Model Y Performance.
What warranty and service do you get with Apex?
A written 10 year warranty on film and workmanship, and a studio that is easy to deal with from the first message to collection.
